Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever had. Patricia the supervisor insisted that I have the credit card that I signed up with. I explained that I had used a third party payer such as afterpay for this car rental, therefore I didn’t pay with a card. Patricia had no kindness whatsoever to offer. She was going to have it her way or the highway. After she was done pretty much scolding me she said she could rent me another car but under no uncertain terms could I use the reservation I had. She would not even try to make the situation better she seemed to be quite satisfied with herself that she had made me upset. I was renting a larger vehicle so I could go Camping with my son and his friend’s for his 18th birthday. Patricia really ruined that joy I felt getting ready for this joyous occasion. So, when Patricia was telling that she could rent me another car she very condescendingly said but you will have to have a credit card. I told her I had a credit card and she was insisting that I meant a debit card I take it she had seen me pull out a debit card with my ID but not sure why she thought I didn’t have a credit card. Very strange! She was extremely rude when she said it to me and I asked her why she had to be so condescending to me. Well that set her temper off and she then told me she couldn’t rent a car to me at all. Now I am irate. I told her that in every situation you can always make things work but Patricia was definitely not willing to work with me. I am a lead Nurse at a nearby hospital I have people Screaming at me on many occasions but I always make a solution to work out the problem. Patricia doesn’t have these kind of skills unfortunately. I went outside to call my husband to pick me up and found another associate outside and asked him to help and he could see I was visibly shaken but he went inside and Patricia told him they couldn’t help me either? So he told me if she cannot help You I cannot help you. I was literally blown away. I help people for a living and I seriously could not believe how I was being treated all because I didn’t have the credit card I booked with because it wasn’t a credit card at all it was a loan. I then quickly left booked a car from Thrifty cars at the airport and told him the whole story and he said was it Patricia. Wow, he knew before I even said her name. Why would someone who has that kind of reputation running this store. I will never go to Hertz ever again and I will tell everyone I know about my experience. Shame on Hertz for not treating Nurses with respect. The whole thing with the credit card needing to be shown at time of rental needs to be fixed. Why are you allowing people to book in kayak and book with a 3 rd party payor. Not a good way to treat people.
